Just some of the events I was at this summer:
Curious Arts Festival: I got to stay in an English country house, and Lynn Barber poured me a cup of coffee.
Edinburgh Book Festival: I went to barbers that was actually a secret speak-easy cocktail bar, and listened to the best book reading ever by Ali Smith.
WOMAD: I’ve never seen so many wellies at a book event; we kept dry by going on the ghost train.
End of the Road Festival: I saw Nick Drake’s famous blanket and heard his sister speak, and more than forty people turned up to hear my talk despite it being at 10am on the Sunday morning.
Book clubs, WI and Nudge – I’ve met lots of lovely book lovers from book clubs, to the Women’s Institute. Let me know if your book club is thinking about reading Our Endless Numbered Days.
